The World Skill Centre Bhubaneswar (WSC) is a unique institution of social importance, aiming to highlight the importance of vocational skills in shaping the country’s future. It is a centralised skill testing, evaluation and certification platform for persons across the country. The WSC facilitates qualification validation, career advancement, and guidance for students up to class twelve and also runs proficiency courses for youth above twelve.

HOW TO TAKE PART IN SKILL DEVELOPMENT AT WORLD SKILL CENTER BHUBANESWAR?
For the School of Engineering, we require that students have completed two years of ITI or a Diploma in Engineering/ Technology.
For the School of Services, students should have completed +2 or a Diploma in any discipline.
The courses have an upper age limit of 25 years as of 01.01.2022. Eligible students must have permanent residence in Odisha.

World Skill Center runs two programmes- Long Term (one year) and Short Term (6 months).

The World Skill Center is located in a new 18-story air-conditioned building with nearly half a million square feet of space in the heart of Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha. The six disciplines offered at WSC cover the manufacturing sectors as follows:

There are two professional disciplines in the services sector:
- Beauty and Wellness
- Hair Fashion and Design
In addition to being a world-class finishing school, the WSC also aims to work in a hub and spoke model. This will allow us to enrich and upgrade the skills of trainers in the skilling ecosystem.
It also plans to run programs that extend to existing skill institutions in Odisha.

The School of Engineering offers specialized programs in Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration (ACR), Electrical Technology (ET), Mechanical & Electrical Services (MES), and Mechatronics (MCE). Eligibility:
To be eligible for admission to the School of Engineering programs, candidates must have successfully completed a two-year ITI (Industrial Training Institute) or hold a Diploma in Engineering.
Program Duration:
The duration of the programs offered by the School of Engineering is one year. Within this timeframe, students will undergo rigorous training to develop a strong foundation in their chosen fields.
Program Details:
- Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration (ACR): The ACR program focuses on equipping students with the necessary skills to design, install, and maintain air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. Students will learn about various cooling and refrigeration principles, system components, troubleshooting techniques, and energy-efficient practices.
- Electrical Technology (ET): The ET program emphasizes the understanding and application of electrical principles, circuits, and systems. Students will gain hands-on experience in electrical installations, wiring, electrical control systems, and the operation and maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Mechanical & Electrical Services (MES): The MES program provides a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems commonly found in buildings and industries. Students will learn about heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing, fire protection systems, and electrical power distribution.
- Mechatronics (MCE): The Mechatronics program combines mechanical engineering, electronics, and computer science to develop professionals capable of designing, operating, and maintaining advanced automated systems. - Beauty, Wellness & Spa: The Beauty, Wellness & Spa program focuses on providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the beauty and wellness industry. Students will learn about various beauty treatments, skin care techniques, spa therapies, makeup applications, and customer service. - Hair Fashion & Design: The Hair Fashion & Design program is designed to equip students with the latest trends and techniques in hair care, styling, and design. Course Fees
To enrol in the course, a candidate is required to make a total payment of Rs 20,000/-.
During the counselling session, the candidate must pay Rs 10,000/- in cash or through a debit or credit card.
The remaining payment of Rs 10,000/- will be due after the completion of the first semester.
It is important to note that there are no additional fees for hostel accommodation, messing or fooding, transportation, examination, or uniforms. These facilities are provided to the students free of cost.
